OREANDA-NEWS. To date, 70 complaints have been received about coercion to vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, on June 23.

“We have received 70 complaints about coercion to vote using an administrative resource,” the official said during a meeting of the Commission. According to her, the employees of the agency considered 52 complaints worthy of attention, since they contained specific data on employers who violated the law. These cases have already been referred to the competent authorities.

“The most of these appeals were in Moscow – 23, and in Saint Petersburg there were 27 appeals. In Moscow… the reaction of the mayor and the prosecutor’s office was quick. I cannot say this about Petersburg until I see the reaction of the governor, but I hope that we will wait till reaction from him and the prosecutor’s office. I hope that each of these 70 appeals will be carefully considered by the relevant competent services,” Pamfilova added.
