OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Tikhonov, is charged with fraud in connection with the theft of “at least 603 million roubles” (about 7.94 million US dollars) previously allocated for the creation of the information network of the Russian Energy Agency. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

On September 8, it was reported that Tikhonov was detained after interrogation. Investigative Committee representatives confirmed the fact of the arrest of the politician, who previously held the post of head of the Energy Agency. Investigators informed that the deputy minister “tried to hide, using various methods of conspiracy, repeatedly changing cars and the temporary location in Moscow,” but was found during a search in his apartment.

In addition, Roman Ryzhkov, Tikhonov’s adviser, and Vladimir Makarov and Viktor Serebryakov, vice-presidents of Lanit JSC, were detained. All of them are also charged with fraud.
