OREANDA-NEWS. Progress has been made at the Moscow talks to resolve the situation in Libya, in which representatives of the Libyan parties took part. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference following the event.

According to the diplomat, the draft document was discussed, it will make possible to specify issues related to the ceasefire. “Today we can report that some progress has been made,” Lavrov concluded.

The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Government of National Accord of Libya, Fayez al-Saraj, and the head of the State Council, Khalid al-Mishri.

Lavrov added that the commander of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar, and the President of the House of Representatives in the city of Tobruk, Aguila Saleh Issa, “are considering this document positively.” They asked for an extra time “until the next morning” to decide on the signing of the agreement.
