Russian Foreign Ministry Commented on the Idea of involving France and Germany in Negotiations on Idlib
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared that the country’s authorities doubt the reasonability of involving France and Germany in the negotiations of Russia and Turkey on Syrian Idlib. Such an initiative was proposed by Ankara earlier.
“Now consultations are holding. As I think, they will last several days. Connecting other countries, especially countries about which I cannot… say they have played some decisive role in the situation… the question arises: why is such a connecting necessary? That’s all. We are ready for various initiatives and are open to them, but they should be somehow explained, it seems to me. That is, we need to understand… what will be the meaning of this, because there is a concept of a “profit”, “value added.” What will we get from this, since we have excellent means for making different solutions, including solutions on complex issues,” Zakharova said.
