OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko held telephone talks with US Ambassador John Sullivan. According to the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission, the conversation was devoted to the events in Belarus and the situation around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The Russian side emphasized the inadmissibility of any interference in internal political processes, attempts to destabilize and impose unilateral mediation services from the outside,” the message says. Rudenko also stated that Moscow considers a proposal to carry out in Belarus a constitutional reform aimed at liberalizing the country’s political system with the involvement of members of labour collectives and representatives of civil society to be promising.

At the end of August, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during talks with US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun, warned the American and European governments against interfering in the internal affairs of Belarus. In response to this statement, the United States reported that it was not interested in creating an artificial crisis around the situation in the republic.
