OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin returned to Mikhail Mishustin, who was infected with a new type of coronavirus, the powers of the head of government. By a new decree, the head of state nullified the previously signed document, according to which the duties of the head of the cabinet were assigned to First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.

The decree on the temporary transfer of powers of the head of government to Belousov was signed by Putin “in order to ensure the continuous functioning of state authorities” on April 30, when Mishustin informed the President about infection with COVID-19. After that, the Prime Minister was hospitalized. However, the politician continued to participate in meetings of the Russian government held in a videoconference format. Putin promised that without Mishustin’s participation, “final decisions will not be made.”
