OREANDA-NEWS. Anastasia Kashevarova, the adviser to the Speaker of Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, reported in Telegram that the trips of deputies to the USA would be suspended because of the recent interrogation of the parliament deputy Inga Yumasheva in the USA.

“Business trips to the United States will be suspended until the official US authorities explain why Yumasheva was interrogated by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation. – Ed.) at New York airport for an hour and apologize,” Kashevarova stated.

According to her, the trip of the Chairman of the Duma Committee on the Financial Market Anatoly Aksakov has already been canceled.

“Only voters and Russian law enforcement agencies have the right to ask questions and interrogate a State Duma deputy,” Kashevarova emphasized.

The politician informed journalists that The Council of the Duma will consider this matter on October 9.

Inga Yumasheva traveled to the United States as the coordinator of the State Duma parliamentary group for relations with the US Congress. She took part in the Fort Ross Dialogue forum. At the New York airport, she was detained by a Federal Bureau of Investigation officer and talked with him in a separate room for about an hour.

After that, the Russian embassy in Washington sent a note of protest to the USA Department of State, and the Russian Foreign Ministry protested to American authorities, calling their actions a hostile action. In the Kremlin, these actions were called unacceptable. Volodin said that he regards the actions of the US intelligence as a “cynical provocation.”
