OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin told in an interview with the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty why the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR cannot become one state.

He stated that their unification would be contrary to the observance of the Minsk agreements. The head of the DPR explained that according to the Minsk agreements, the DPR and LPR are held separately.

In addition, he noted the need for negotiations of the trilateral contact group in Minsk.

Denis Pushilin stressed that for the DPR this is the only international platform where the republic is represented. He said: "We can be heard on the Minsk site. This is our voice."

The head of the DPR believes that, despite the aggressive actions, Kiev will not withdraw from the Minsk agreements, since it uses them as a means of political pressure on Russia.

Earlier, a member of the Federation Council from Crimea, Sergei Tsekov, said that Kiev did not consider the residents of Donbass as people and came up with laws according to which they would be repressed if the region returned to the control of the Ukrainian authorities.

Two days ago, Pushilin said that the involvement of the United States in the negotiations on Donbass in the "Minsk" format is not entirely advisable.
According to him, taking into account his experience in negotiations, the involvement of new participants in such processes "only complicates the already difficult negotiation situation."
