OREANDA-NEWS. Russia benefits from certainty in American policy, believes head of the international committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

On November 3rd, a general election was held in the United States. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden are fighting for the presidency in the country.

Konstantin Kosachev believes that for Russia, of course, the main question is what will change in relation to the Russian Federation. He's sure there are several options.

According to the head of the international committee of the Federation Council, if the central factor of alleged Russian interference ceases to be paramount for American domestic policy, then other topics will become more important for any president. He took into account that in this case the United States will not only get hung up on Russia, but also resolve issues related to China or Iran.

In addition, he recalled, in recent years, the White House's policy towards Russia proceeded not so much from the president's instructions as from the mood in Congress.

Konstantin Kosachev recalls that on November 3, among other things, the fate of 35 out of 100 seats in the Senate is being determined, and this will definitely affect both the future sentiments of Congress and the foreign policy of any US president.

At the same time, he is sure that if the congressmen realized that Russia is not the source of the current problems of the United States, then a lot would have changed.
