OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin administration is not ready to admit the presence of political prisoners in the Republic of Belarus. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president.

“We cannot make any generalization, we do not agree with this interpretation. Each case should be considered. We think it is wrong to hang labels and generalize,” the politician said. According to Peskov, the Russian authorities have no information about what happened to the Belarusian oppositionist Maria Kalesnikava, and Moscow hopes that the situation will clear up.

Being asked about Russia’s attitude to the abductions of opposition politicians in Belarus, Peskov replied that such actions should not be approved. At the same time, the presidential spokesperson added that abductions should be separated from legal detentions sanctioned by state agencies according to the Belarusian law.
