OREANDA-NEWS. The «Taliban» movement (banned in the Russian Federation) will allow 200 Americans, as well as citizens of other states, to leave Afghanistan. They will be able to fly on charter flights. This is reported by Reuters.

It is noted that the departure of aircraft can begin as early as September 9. According to the agency, the US special Representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, agreed on this with the «Taliban».

Earlier it was reported that seven armed Americans from among the civilians tried to enter the territory of Afghanistan through the UAE on August 31 to assist in the evacuation of citizens from the country. They were detained at the Dubai airport, and later released on bail.
The US authorities do not consider the members of the «Taliban» movement to be respected members of the world community and have not made promises to recognize the government they declared. This was stated during the briefing by White House press Secretary Jen Psaki.

Psaki clarified that cooperation with the «Taliban» is taking place today in matters of the return of citizens who are still on the territory of Afghanistan. She noted that before making a specific decision, Washington will monitor the actions of the «Taliban» in the future.
