OREANDA-NEWS. Mass actions against quarantine measures in the United States were organized by ultra-right activists who advocated the free carrying of weapons. This was reported on April 19 by The Washington Post.

The publication named the leader of the movement in Minnesota Ben Dorr and two his brothers, Christopher and Aaron. Through Facebook groups, they spread calls to protest against restrictions which they considered to be excessive. The Dorrs managed to organize actions in a number of states with the participation of about 200 thousand people.

In addition, the members of the Republican Party were among the initiators of the protests, the newspaper writes. In particular, Meshawn Maddock, representing the movement Women for Trump, was one of the organizers of the rallies in Michigan. US President Donald Trump himself supported the demonstrators.

On April 18, in Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Texas and Wisconsin protest actions were carried out. In some states, besides lifting of quarantine restrictions, manifestants demanded resignation of governors.
