OREANDA-NEWS. Former presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has rejected the accusation of the Investigative Committee, that she participated in the development of plans to organize mass riots and seize the buildings of state authorities in Gomel. The corresponding statement on Tuesday, March 2, was published by the press service of the exiled opposition leader.

«During the pre-election program and the months of protest after the election, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's team communicated and continues to communicate with a huge number of Belarusians. Some of them have always been and continue to be focused on radical measures — but Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has never participated in the development of such plans. As more than 200 days of Belarusian protest show, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her team supported only peaceful methods», the document says.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Belarus reported, that the investigation of the criminal case against four confidants of Tikhanovskaya was completed, and she was put on the wanted list. «The relevant documents for her extradition have been submitted to the Prosecutor General's Office», the Investigative Committee said.

The Belarusian Investigative Committee also released a video of a meeting between Tikhanovskaya and her confidants, which, according to the investigation, took place on August 5, where the participants, among whom Tikhanovskaya was present at one time, discussed plans to seize power in Homel.
