OREANDA-NEWS. The presidents of Turkey and the United States of America, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Donald Trump, discussed over the telephone the situation in Syria and Libya.

“Our president held telephone conversations with his American counterpart Donald Trump. The parties discussed the situation in Syria, Libya and also touched on regional issues,” a source in the Turkish leader’s administration told to journalists of RIA Novosti news agency. He added that Erdogan expressed his regret about the attack on the US security forces in Iraq and satisfaction that the attacks on the US embassy in Baghdad had ceased.

“Both leaders emphasized the importance of solving regional problems through diplomatic means and agreed to strengthen cooperation to achieve mutual goals in bilateral relations,” a source in Erdogan’s administration added.
