OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump said that Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed as a result of an American air strike, was planning attacks on the Embassy of the United States in Baghdad.

“We caught a total monster and we took him out. We did it because they were looking to blow up our embassy,” the politician said at the briefing broadcasted by the White House website. Trump added that Iranian general “had more than that particular embassy in mind.” American leader also noted that Soleimani was involved in the murder of many Americans.

On January 8, Trump, commenting on the general’s killing, said that he was a man whose hands were “drenched in both American and Iranian blood.”
