OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump said during a press conference at the White House that the wide distribution of the coronavirus vaccine among the American population will begin in October.

“We’re very close to that vaccine as you know and I think much closer than I think most people want to say. We think we can start some time in October,” the politician said. Trump clarified that this will happen “from mid-October on… maybe a little bit later than that,” adding, however, that if events are unsuccessful, Americans will wait for the vaccine a little longer.

Commenting on the words of Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the US Department of Health and Human Services, Robert Redfield, who announced that the COVID-19 vaccine will be generally available in the country most likely only in the second half of 2021, Trump called this information erroneous. “I think he made a mistake when he said that. It’s just incorrect information and I called him and he didn’t tell me that and I think he got the message maybe confused, maybe it was stated incorrectly,” the President explained.
