OREANDA-NEWS. Washington will take measures against the People’s Republic of China due to the situation with COVID-19, US President Donald Trump said at a pre-election meeting with his supporters in the White House. Currently, the USA leads in the world in terms of both infections and deaths.

The politician did not specify when and what steps the United States will take in relation to China, which had become a hotbed of the spread of coronavirus. Republican Trump also accused his Democratic opponent in the ongoing presidential election, Joe Biden, of sacrificing national interests to please Beijing.

A week ago, Trump also said that China will pay for the spread of the virus. Earlier, the head of the White House has repeatedly turned to the US special services with a request to find out whether the coronavirus of a new type was artificially created in one of the Chinese laboratories. He also threatened to sever relations with Beijing and called on the UN to hold China accountable for the spread of COVID-19.
