OREANDA-NEWS. On September 29, the leader of the Belarusian opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya said that she would soon meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Next week we have a meeting with Angela Merkel, with her cabinet, and also a number of other meetings in Europe, Tsikhanouskaya said on the air of Radio France Internationale. According to the politician, the meetings will be held both in person and online, and all of them are very important for a peaceful resolution of the situation in Belarus.

Earlier the same day, Tsikhanouskaya met with French President Emmanuel Macron, talks were held in Vilnius. In particular, the oppositionist suggested talks in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on holding new presidential election in Belarus. In response, Macron promised to do everything possible to return to OSCE mediation and release those detained during protest actions in Belarusian cities and towns.
