OREANDA-NEWS. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya said that she considers herself a winner in the presidential election in Belarus, and her headquarters demanded a peaceful transfer of power to the elected head of state, not excluding the possibility of new protests.

“The authorities do not hear us, they have completely cut themselves off from the people, but I must repeat that we are for peaceful changes. And the authorities should now think about how to transfer this power in a peaceful way, because at the moment they have only one way – violence against peaceful Belarusians,” the politician stated.

According to the official data of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, more than 80.2 % of citizens voted for the current president of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, and 9.9 % for Tsikhanouskaya. The headquarters of the latter do not recognize these results. Tsikhanouskaya’ s representative said that data from polling stations across Belarus show that the opposition candidate won the election with 70–80 % of votes.
