OREANDA-NEWS. In the beginning of September, the leader of the Belarusian opposition, former presidential candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya intends to speak via video link at the meetings of the United Nations Security Council and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

“Her speeches are already scheduled at the meetings of the UN Security Council on September 4 and the PACE on September 8,” the press service of the politician told reporters of RIA Novosti news agency. An invitation to speak at the UN Security Council requires the consent of all its members (in particular, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China are among them).

“Being asked what kind of help she and Belarus expects from the international community, Sviatlana says that we ask everyone to respect the sovereignty of Belarus, act as guarantors of the sovereignty of Belarus and respect the will of the Belarusian people,” the press service added.
