OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine appealed to the Secretary General of the United Nations because of the naval parade held by Russian military in the city of Sevastopol.

The letter was sent by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the organization, Serhiy Kislitsa. “Ukraine considers the holding of this event in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol without the consent of the Ukrainian side as another violation by the Russian Federation of international law, including numerous resolutions of the UN General Assembly, as well as Ukrainian legislation,” the message reads.

According to Kiev, Moscow’s actions are aimed at escalating tension in relations between the two states. The letter says that Ukraine condemns the demonstration of military force and the militarization of Crimea.
