OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian authorities decided to close the borders for the entry of foreigners due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection for a month, from August 29 to September 28.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal made a proposal to establish such a restriction at a government meeting. “Taking into account the level of morbidity, we must protect our fellow citizens and show responsibility to our foreign partners. The government will consider today the issue of closing the borders for the entry of foreign citizens by the end of September,” the politician explained.

As a result, the cabinet of ministers unanimously supported the closure of the borders. The ban on entering the country will not affect only certain categories of foreigners: those who have a residence permit in Ukraine, members of international and humanitarian missions, international crews and a number of others, Shmyhal said.
