OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian authorities do not intend to amend the country’s Constitution regarding the special status of Donbass. This was stated on September 18 by Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada.

The politician noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about this earlier. “During the December summit… of the leaders of the Normandy format in Paris, the President gave a clear understanding that there will be no changes to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding the inclusion of any special status there, this is ruled out,” Reznikov said.

According to him, the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group insists on revising the Minsk Agreements.

Earlier, representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic informed of Ukraine’s refusal to fulfil the agreements aimed at maintaining the ceasefire in the region. They proposed to reconsider these agreements at the next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group.
