OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov went on an urgent trip to Syria, which is why he was unable to negotiate with the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department Dmytro Kuleba. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said this in the program Freedom of Speech broadcast on the channel ICTV. “We received a message that Minister Lavrov urgently left for a business trip and it is not known when this conversation will take place. As it turned out, he left for Syria,” Kuleba said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian diplomat informed that he initiated urgent negotiations with Lavrov after the death of a Ukrainian serviceman in Donbass. Then he said that the soldier died as a result of provocations aimed at disrupting the ceasefire between the conflicting parties.
