OREANDA-NEWS. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law establishing normative volumes of teaching in the state language for state, municipal and corporate institutions. The bill was supported by 327 out of 450 parliamentarians.

For representatives of national minorities whose languages ​​are not official in the European Union, at least 80 % of annual teaching in basic and specialized secondary education programs will be conducted in the state language.

For those whose languages ​​are official in the EU, learning in state language when receiving basic secondary education will take at least 20 % of annual volume in the fifth grade with an increase to 40 % or more in the ninth grade. As for specialized secondary education, this figure is 60 %.
