OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the provision of humanitarian assistance to Italy in connection with the coronavirus epidemic. This was announced by the press service of the head of state.

“In order to help overcome the consequences of the emergency situation in the Italian Republic due to the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, I decide to provide humanitarian assistance to Italy,” the document says.

According to the decree, a team of Ukrainian doctors will go to Italy to help combating the epidemic and share experience. “Ukrainian specialists will receive invaluable experience until we have a peak of the disease here. And they will return when they are most in demand at home. This experience cannot be replaced by anything. During this time, we will move forward in the treatment of COVID-19 and will receive specialists who will study various cases of treatment in Italy,” Zelensky explained.
