OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced his intention to create an effective negotiating platform to discuss the issue of Crimea’s ownership and return the peninsula.

“We will bring it back. But there is no serious and effective platform for discussing this issue, except for our international negotiations and agreements with our foreign partners, which led to sanctions and pressure on Russia,” the politician said in an interview with the TV channel Euronews. The head of state noted that within the framework of the Normandy format Moscow does not want to discuss the issue of de-occupation of Crimea.

Zelensky added that for him this topic is the same priority as and the situation in Donbass. “I don’t know the difference between these questions. The only thing in the situation in the east is that people are dying there, so this human factor comes first for me personally. But at the same level, since both territories are ours and we must return them,” the Ukrainian leader explained.
