OREANDA-NEWS. A former head of the Kiev department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs became a new suspect in the criminal case of people’s death during so called Euromaidan on February 20, 2014. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

“Under the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation reported to the former head of the mass events department of the public security department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kiev of a suspicion in unlawful obstruction of peaceful meetings of citizens on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kiev on November 30, 2013,” the statement of the press service says.

According to the investigators, the actions of the suspect led to the fact that “unidentified officers of the special forces unit Berkut and military personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine ousted from the Independence Monument… about 300 participants in the meeting, thereby terminating their participation in the peaceful assembly.”
