OREANDA-NEWS. US Attorney General William Barr instructed federal prosecutors to investigate allegations of voting irregularities in the presidential election, the information agency Associated Press reported, citing a document of the Department of Justice.

Investigations should be conducted when there are “clear and apparently-credible allegations of irregularities that, if true, could potentially impact the outcome of a federal election in an individual State.” Results should be submitted by December 8.

Associated Press calls Barr a “loyal ally of President Donald Trump.” The publication claims that the Attorney General helped the incumbent head of state spread allegations of fraud.

The US presidential election was held on November 3. Democratic candidate Joe Biden gained the necessary number of electoral votes to win and de facto won the race. Republican Trump considers the election results to be rigged. He filed lawsuits for recounting votes in several states.
