OREANDA-NEWS. The United States Department of Treasury announced imposing sanctions against one more subsidiary of Russian oil company Rosneft. Washington authorities believe that TNK Trading International S.A. is engaged in “the sale and transport of Venezuelan crude oil.” The company is registered in Switzerland and has been controlled by Rosneft since December 2017, the statement of the Treasury says.

Rosneft spokesman Mikhail Leontyev refused to comment on new American sanctions.

In February 2020, the United States imposed sanctions against Rosneft Trading (another subsidiary of the Russian corporation), restrictions were also connected with working with Venezuelan oil. After that, parent company announced that they were working in Venezuela in full compliance with international law, and the situation was called arbitrariness.
