US Intends to Send Additional Planes and Troops to the Middle East
OREANDA-NEWS. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Pentagon plans to deploy 200 servicemen and six B-52 strategic bombers to the Middle East amid the worsening of tension with Iran.
It is noted that the US Department of Defense will send to this region the military based in the Italian city of Vicenza. It is planned that some of them will guard the United States Embassy in Beirut. 5 thousand marines and sailors are aboard the landing ship Bataan and accompanying vessels, which are moving towards the Middle East through the Mediterranean Sea. The publication emphasizes that after the transfer of troops the number of American contingent in the region will exceed 80 thousand people.Fox News Channel reports that Washington began redeployment of B-52 from the air base located in the State of the Louisiana to Diego Garcia Island (Chagos Archipelago, Indian Ocean).
