OREANDA-NEWS. US President Donald Trump informed that he and his wife Melania Trump had contracted the coronavirus and were forced to go into self-isolation.

Attending physician Sean Conley reported that the head of state will continue to work during treatment for COVID-19. “Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering,” he said. Trump and his spouse are doing well, Conley added.

A few hours before it became known about Trump’s infection, he announced that coronavirus had been detected in his counselor Hope Hicks. According to Bloomberg agency, she accompanied the head of state on September 29 on a trip to Cleveland, and on September 30 she was with him at a rally in Minnesota.

These are not the first cases of COVID-19 infection in the White House. In May, coronavirus was found in Katie Miller, then press secretary to US Vice President Mike Pence. Later, US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien became infected with SARS-CoV-2.
