OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte asked him to close the representative offices of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics (DPR and LPR) located in Italian cities.

This was reported by the press service of the office of the Ukrainian leader. “I appealed to the Prime Minister to close the illegal offices of the DPR and LPR , which were opened in several cities in Italy,” Zelensky said.

The first representative office of the DPR was opened in Turin in December of 2016 with the participation of members of three Italian parties. The second one began working in February of 2019 in Verona.

In addition, Zelensky and Conte discussed the case of the fighter of the Ukrainian National Guard, Vitaliy Markiv, who was sentenced in Italy to 24 years in prison for the murder of the Italian journalist Andrea Rocchelli in Donbass. “I said… that we should take this guy,” Zelensky told about it.
