OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the country has no possibility to withdraw from the Minsk Agreements in order to resolve the situation in Donbass. The politician spoke on this topic during an interview with the magazine Focus published on December 25.

“As I said at one of the briefings, I think that we cannot leave the Minsk Agreements for no particular reason, because the Europeans can lift sanctions against Russia and representatives of separate areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. But as for me personally, I would withdraw,” Zelensky said.

According to the President, no one except for Ukraine and its European partners wants to end the war in Donbass. “It turns out to be a simple situation, from which a complicated exit should be found,” he added.

Zelensky recalled that a meeting of advisers in the Normandy format was supposed to take place in December 2020, but due to disagreements and the spread of coronavirus infection, it was not held.
