OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is able to agree with Russian leader Vladimir Putin about settlement in the Donbass, noting that Kiev would leave the Normandy format in a year, if the situation in the conflict zone does not change and international agreements are not implemented.

“I won’t give my five years (Presidential term. – Ed.), which were given to me by the Ukrainian people, to work on Minsk (Minsk Agreements. – Ed.). I will not do this,” the politician said in an interview with The Guardian. “Time is ticking. The government can spend one year on the entire agreements,” he added.

Zelensky also noted that he is confident in his ability to negotiate with Putin. He explained that during the December Normandy summit they had “a few emotional parts” that helped him to be listened by the Russian President.
