But, in January — February 2019, the number of corruption-related crimes in Russia increased by 8% compared to the same period in 2018.

At the same time, he stressed that the work on minimizing the effects of corruption has become more effective. Thus, in 2018, prosecutors obtained voluntary compensation for damage, seizure of property and the imposition of arrest of 46.5 billion rubles, compared with 26.5 billion in 2017. Last year, the Prosecutor General’s Office checked approximately 19,000 defense order executors, federal authorities (among them the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rospatent) and state corporations, including "Rosatom" and "Uralvagonzavod".

Employees of the department revealed facts of unlawful disposal of funds, overestimation of the cost of work, disruption of terms and other violations. In particular, as Chaika reported, at the Roskosmos and Rostec enterprises they stole more than 1.6 billion rubles allocated for the modernization of production and the creation of promising weapons designs.

In addition, the number of uncovered corrupt employees of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the UK has increased over the year. "As a result of the intensification of the work of the own security services of law enforcement agencies, in 2018 more corrupt employees of the internal affairs bodies were revealed by 1.6% (an increase from 956 to 971), the IC of Russia — by 38.1% (from 21 to 29) - more than 2 times (from 17 to 39), "the report says.

In total, 16 thousand corrupt officials were brought to justice last year, including more than 10 thousand officials.
