OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Federal law ratifying the Protocol to the Treaty with South Ossetia on Alliance and integration, which removed restrictions on the duration of stay of citizens on the territory of two States, corresponding document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The document provides opportunity for citizens of one Contracting party to stay on the territory of the other Contracting party without restrictions on length of stay established by law.

Moscow recognized the independence of South Ossetia, despite adopted by the Committee on political Affairs and security OSCE PA resolution on this issue. The document urged Russia to abandon such a position in relation to South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
