"The coronavirus pandemic, we will also have to talk about this, where to get away from it today, has seriously disrupted the usual course of life around the world," Putin said.

According to the president, it will not be possible to "fence off" from COVID-19 in a single country, and in order to defeat the pandemic, it is necessary to combine efforts "on an equal basis."

The Russian leader also pointed out that in such conditions the role of the World Health Organization (WHO, and its work deserves support.

The results of a recent international study show that wearing masks had an impact on reducing the incidence of coronavirus infection. They reduce morbidity by 53%, while maintaining social distance by 25%. Hand washing has also proven to be an effective measure against infection, but researchers have conducted relatively little research on this factor.

Over the past day, a new maximum of deaths from the consequences of COVID-19 has been recorded in Russia. During this period, 37,374 new cases of coronavirus were recorded, 36,414 patients fully recovered.
