OREANDA-NEWSRussian President Vladimir Putin will work in Crimea on Wednesday, which marks the sixth anniversary of reunification with Russia.

According to the Kremlin’s press service, the main point of the program of the head of state will be a meeting with public representatives of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. It's planned that Putin will also present state awards to the builders of the Crimean bridge and hold meetings with the head of the Republic of Crimea.

In the information center "Crimean Bridge" Russian media were told that 13 employees are expected to receive awards from the head of state. The bridge is necessary for uninterrupted transport communication between the Crimea and other regions of Russia. The transport crossing consists of parallel roads and railways. The automobile part of the bridge was put into operation in May 2018, freight traffic on it began in the autumn of that year. The construction of the railway part was completed on December 18, 2019. The movement of freight trains on the bridge is scheduled to open in July 2020.

The last time Putin visited Crimea in January. Then he held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region, noting the growth of industrial production and tourist flow. At the same time, the president drew attention to the need to improve the quality of life of Crimeans, develop infrastructure and health care, and equalize prices for essential goods.
