OREANDA-NEWS Governor of the Perm region Maxim Reshetnikov assured journalists that the new scene of the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Tchaikovsky will appear in Perm, despite the termination of the contract with the artistic director and conductor of the theater Theodore Currentzis.

He also added that businessman Roman Abramovich will support the project. The design of the new phase will be carried out by the Group of Companies Stroy-Expert LLC, the cost of the state contract is 221.5 million rubles.

The governor did not answer the question of journalists whether the company is connected with the businessman and artistic director of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Vladimir Kekhman.
