OREANDA-NEWS. As the deputy director for scientific work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gorelov told RIA Novosti, the daily increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Russia by the spring is predicted to decrease to the initial indicators, to the figures that were last summer.

He noted that the process of stabilizing the situation cannot be quick and will take some time. To a large extent, the duration of the stabilization period depends on how responsibly and consciously each person approaches the observance of precautions.

Earlier, Natalya Pshenichnaya, deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, said that at the peak of the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia there may be 20 thousand new infections per day, after which the process of stabilizing the situation will probably begin.

However today, the statistics on the incidence of coronavirus in Russia does not look very comforting. On November 3, 18,648 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Russia per day. 355 people died. A record number of patients recovered - 15,331. Traditionally, Moscow is in first place in terms of the number of detected patients with 5,150 infected, followed by St. Petersburg with 944 cases of COVID-19 infection, the Moscow region with 567 cases, Nizhny Novgorod region with 391 cases of infection, Arkhangelsk region with 387 cases, Rostov region with 310 infected with coronavirus.
