OREANDA-NEWSThe Russian ambassador to Pyongyang, Alexander Matsegora, discussed the cooperation of Russia and the DPRK in the field of air transportation with the deputy head of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the People’s Republic Lee Young Son. This was announced on Wednesday by the Russian Embassy in the DPRK on its Facebook page.

“On January 21, Ambassador Alexander Macegora in the negotiation complex of the Koryo Hotel met with Deputy Director General of the DPRK Civil Aviation Directorate Lee Young Song”, the diplomatic mission said. “A conversation took place, during which they discussed issues of strengthening Russian-Korean cooperation in aviation the transport of passengers and goods with an emphasis on flight safety".

As the embassy emphasized, Macegora "thanked the interlocutor for the support of the Korean delegation for the re-election of Russia as a member of the ICAO Council for the first group of states and expressed confidence that the close cooperation of aviation representatives and experts of the two countries, including within the framework of the upcoming 219th session of the Council ICAO (Montreal, March 2020) will continue".

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is an intergovernmental specialized agency of the United Nations created in 1944 to ensure the orderly and regulated functioning and development of the world air transport system.
