Russia Approved a Project on Anti-Terrorist Protection of Schools
OREANDA-NEWS. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said that it was necessary to take measures to prevent a repetition of the tragedy in Kazan, where children were killed and injured as a result of the shooting at school.
“Children died and many adults were injured. Now it is important to provide them with the necessary treatment, and measures must be taken to prevent such cases in the future,” Mishustin said at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers via videoconference.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved new requirements for the anti-terrorist security of children's camps and recreation centers, and the government will also develop uniform requirements for ensuring security in all schools in the country. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Mishustin, at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers in the format of a video conference, said on this occasion: “We have approved new requirements for the anti-terrorist protection of children's camps and recreation centers. On behalf of the head of state, the government will develop requirements for ensuring security in all schools in our country. Regardless of where exactly the general educational organization is located, they will have to be observed in full. "
As a result of the shooting at gymnasium No. 175 in Kazan on May 11, according to the authorities of Tatarstan, seven children and two teachers were killed, 24 people were hospitalized. The head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, said that a 19-year-old boy had organized the shooting, and the weapon was officially registered for him. Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the murder of two or more persons, the maximum sanction is life imprisonment. The accused admitted his guilt.
