OREANDA-NEWS. The modernization of one of the world’s most powerful self-propelled artillery guns 2S7M Malka was completed in Russia. This was reported on April 7 by the press service of machine building company Uralvagonzavod located in the city of Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk Region).

“The modernization improved rolling characteristics, maneuverability and mobility, command controllability and all the main characteristics of the gun,” the message says. Instead of imported, domestic components were used. Malka successfully passed a full cycle of tests. The press service added that the first model is ready to be sent to the Russian Armed Forces.

2S7M Malka can shoot high-explosive shells and active-reactive ammunition. The main advantage of this weapon is the ability to use concrete-piercing and chemical shells, as well as special nuclear ammunition.
