"In connection with the information on the existing risks to the security of international flights of civil aircraft prior to subsequent notification, the Federal Air Transport Agency recommends not using the airspace over the territories of Iran, Iraq, the Persian and Oman gulfs for flights of civil aircraft of the Russian Federation, including transit flights", the telegram says.

In addition, on January 8, the Boeing 737 airliner of Ukraine International Airlines, with about 180 passengers and crew on board, crashed after taking off at Tehran's airport. The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that they all died. As reported by the Iranian agency Fars, the cause of the accident could be a technical malfunction.
