OREANDA-NEWS. According to estimates of the Accounts Chamber of Russia, the total amount of financial irregularities that auditors identify annually is hundreds of billions of roubles, of which about 2–3 billion roubles (33–50 million US dollars) are connected with crimes.

This was stated by the head of the agency Alexei Kudrin. In 2019, auditors revealed financial violations of 804 billion roubles (about 13.1 billion dollars). A third of this amount was accounting irregularities corrected during inspections. Another third are procurement violations.

Later, Kudrin added on his Twitter page that 2–3 billion roubles per year is the volume of violations for which criminal cases are opened following the results of inspections of the Accounts Chamber. The official also noted that the Chamber plans to gradually move from the search for financial irregularities to the identification of systemic problems in the financial sector.
