OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Aerospace Forces received the first serial fighter of the fifth generation Su-57. This was reported by RIA Novosti news agency, citing a source familiar with the situation.

Earlier, the head of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov informed that an experimental batch of ten Su-57s was transferred to the Russian army. According to the contract signed in the summer of 2019, in total, 76 aircrafts should be delivered to the Aerospace Forces.

The first serial aircraft of the Ministry of Defense was supposed to receive at the end of last year, but Su-57 crashed near Khabarovsk during flight tests. It was assumed that the results of the work of the commission, which studied the circumstances of the incident, would be taken into account to improve the plane.

Su-57 is a fifth generation fighter jet designed to destroy all types of air, ground and surface targets. It made its first flight in 2010.
