OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian airline Kogalymavia, which went bankrupt in February 2018, and the Turkish tour operator Prince Group filed lawsuits against the Egyptian authorities in the Permanent Court of Arbitration under the UN Commission on International Trade Law in The Hague. Companies demand compensation for direct losses resulting from the terrorist attack aboard the aircraft in October 2015, as well as the loss of investment in the Egyptian economy. The initial confirmed amount of direct damage is 201 million US dollars.

This was reported to RBC news agency by the representative of both plaintiffs, Oksana Golovina. It is known that the lawsuits were filed in November 2017, but only at the beginning of 2020 the first hearing on the case was held, since it took several years to prove validity of choice of jurisdiction and correctness of exchange of documents of the case.
