OREANDA-NEWS. The State Duma of the Russian Federation proposed a list of criminal punishments for violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules.

“For violation of the sanitary and epidemiological rules, which entailed the death of a person through negligence, or involving the deliberate creation of the threat of mass diseases, it is proposed to fine up to 2 million roubles (About 25.5 thousand US dollars. – Ed.) or in the amount of salary or other income for a period of 4 to 5 years, or to ban holding certain positions or engage in certain activities from 3 to 5 years, or to apply limitation of freedom for up to 5 years,” the statement published on the official website of the parliament says. In addition, for violation that caused the death of two or more persons, it is proposed to punish with imprisonment for up to 7 years.

It is noted that the amendments to criminal law will be discussed on March 25.
