The Russian Embassy in Austria did not confirm the information about the presence of Russians among those detained in the case of the terrorist attack in Vienna, this information is being verified. This was reported by Russian Ambassador Dmitry Lyubinsky. Earlier, the head of the Vienna police, Gerhard Purstl, said that there were citizens of Bangladesh, North Macedonia, Turkey and Russia among the detainees.

“The Embassy is verifying the information on the Russian citizenship of those detained in the case of the terrorist attack in Vienna, but we have no such confirmation,” Lyubinsky told reporters of the news agency RIA Novosti.

The shooting in Vienna took place on November 2. Four civilians were killed, 22 were wounded. One attacker was shot dead by the police. 14 people were arrested in the case of the attack. The terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant claimed responsibility for the attack in the capital of Austria.
